The National Bank announced how banks will work on Easter and May holidays

The National Bank of Ukraine said that due to the martial law, banks will operate as usual on Easter and May holidays. This was reported by the NBU, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The NBU reminded that Ukrainians will celebrate in May:

  • 1 May (Wednesday) – Labour Day;
  • 5 May (Sunday) – Easter;
  • 8 May (Wednesday) – the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War of 1939-1945.

How the EPS and banks will work on Easter and May holidays

The National Bank’s electronic payment system (EPS) has been operating 24/7/365 for over a year.

“All banks in Ukraine are connected to the system and have the ability to make customer payments around the clock and seven days a week, taking into account their own needs and the needs of their customers,”

– the regulator said.

The NBU reminded that during the period of martial law in Ukraine, certain provisions of labour legislation were temporarily suspended.

“In particular, the Law of Ukraine “On the Organisation of Labour Relations under Martial Law” stipulates that holidays and non-working days are cancelled, including the day off is not transferred to the day after the holiday if it falls on a Saturday or Sunday,” the press service added,

– the press service added.

Accordingly, 1, 6, and 8 May will be regular working days for the financial system.
