The coming days will be difficult: the situation in the country’s energy system remains challenging

Following the latest massive shelling by Russia, the situation in the country’s energy system remains extremely difficult. The enemy attacked energy facilities in a number of regions.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Kuleba noted that a meeting of the Headquarters for the Elimination of the Consequences of Shelling of Energy Facilities had been held.
Due to damage to high-voltage substations, nuclear power plants were forced to reduce their output. Currently, emergency power cuts continue in most regions. Repair work is ongoing at all damaged facilities. Energy companies are doing everything possible to restore power and heat to consumers as quickly as possible.
“The situation with electricity supply remains extremely difficult. The loss of power as a result of the night attack has created an additional significant electricity deficit, which is extremely difficult to cover, so the coming days will be difficult,” the Ministry of Energy said in a statement.
Currently, residents of the capital receive electricity only for a short period of time – one and a half to two hours. Energy companies are doing everything possible to balance the system, and the city is deploying additional support points in each district.
Kuleba added that more than 3,300 resilience points are already operating in the capital, including with the support of responsible businesses. The restoration of heat supply in 1,126 apartment buildings in Kyiv is ongoing. Nearly 200 teams are involved – about a thousand specialists, including those from Ukrzaliznytsia and other regions. “I would like to remind you that in order to reduce the dependence of residential buildings on such attacks, the government has launched the SvitloDIM program. This is an opportunity for residents of high-rise buildings to receive up to UAH 300,000 for autonomous power sources for their homes,” Kuleba said. To date, there are already more than 60 applications, and more than UAH 5 million has been allocated within the program.
