The richest city on Earth in 2025 has been named

Tokyo, the capital of Japan, has been ranked first in the ranking of the 300 richest cities in the world by CEOWORLD Magazine, [ komersant] reports.

“Tokyo will once again be crowned the richest city on Earth in 2025,” the publication says.

According to the publication, Tokyo’s GDP reached $2.55 trillion. New York City is in second place in the list of the richest cities with a GDP of $2.49 trillion. Another American metropolis, Los Angeles, closes the top three with a GDP of $1.62 trillion.

The study notes that the top ten cities in the ranking are responsible for about a third of the world’s GDP.

Earlier, Bloomberg named the richest person on the planet in 2025. According to the agency, this year the first place in the ranking was taken by Larry Ellison, co-founder of the software manufacturer Oracle. It is specified that he was able to achieve this result due to the rise of the company’s stock market quotations by almost 40%. According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index calculations, Ellison’s fortune is estimated at $393 billion. He is followed on the list by American entrepreneur Elon Musk, whose net worth is $385 billion.
