The National Bank of Ukraine has released an updated forecast on migration processes and said that in the coming years it expects a significant return of Ukrainians who left abroad after the outbreak of a full-scale war. According to the regulator, the changing economic situation and improving living conditions in Ukraine may significantly affect the decision of many citizens to return home, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The NBU notes that the key factors will be the recovery of economic activity, employment growth, and higher incomes combined with the stabilization of the security situation. The social aspect also plays an important role – the desire of Ukrainians to reunite with their families and return to their familiar environment.
Analysts emphasize that government business support programs, investments in regional reconstruction and infrastructure development can further stimulate the return. According to them, many Ukrainians are closely monitoring the changes in the country and are ready to consider returning if there are stable prospects.
At the same time, the NBU emphasizes that the pace of return will depend on the further development of the security situation and the state’s ability to provide comfortable living and working conditions.
