NBU issues commemorative coin in honor of Ukrainian surface drone Magura

The National Bank of Ukraine has put into circulation a commemorative coin “Ukrainian Cotton. Magura Unmanned Surface Vehicle” dedicated to the innovative development of Ukrainian gunsmiths that helps the military effectively destroy enemy equipment at sea and in the air.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the NBU.
The coin has a face value of 5 hryvnias.
The reverse features a stylized Magura surface drone cutting through the sea waves, as well as a scene of an enemy Su-30 fighter being destroyed. In addition, the coin features the emblem of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the Groop 13 special unit that used these drones in combat operations.
The obverse of the coin depicts a stylized image of Magura, the ancient Slavic goddess of war, victory and eternal life, in whose honor the unmanned boat is named.
The mintage of the coin is limited to 75,000 pieces and it is sold in souvenir packaging. The artists of the coin are Volodymyr Taran, Oleksandr Haruk, Serhii Haruk, and the sculptor is Volodymyr Demianenko.
The commemorative coin was put into circulation on December 12, 2025. It will be sold through the NBU’s online numismatic products store starting on December 16, 2025. The coin will also be available through distributing banks; a full list is available on the NBU website.
