On 18 May, an electronic office for persons liable for military service is to be launched, which will allow them to update their data without visiting a military registration and enlistment office. The register will contain information not only about men but also about women. This was reported by lawyer Maria Levchenko, according to Komersant ukrainskyi

“On 2 April, the President signed Bill No. 10062, which is now Law No. 3549, which specifies changes to the unified register of persons liable for military service, conscripts and reservists. It states that the data of all citizens of Ukraine, without specifying gender, so both men and women aged 17 to 60 will be entered into the register,”

– said Maria Levchenko.

At the same time, Article 13, paragraph 2, states under what conditions a citizen’s data can be deleted.

“If a woman is not a person liable for military service, conscript or reservist, her data will be deleted from the register. So don’t fall for the myths that are being actively dispelled,”

– the lawyer said.

Which women should be registered

According to Article 1 of the law, it is mandatory for women doctors to be registered. Those women who have military-related specialities can register at their own request.
