29 October 2024 17:28

The government is preparing a comprehensive package of winter support for families: eSupport, subsidies and the expanded Affordable Medicines program. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, according to Komersant ukrainskyi.

Of course, the first item in the winter support program, the Prime Minister mentioned the thousand hryvnias announced by the President of Ukraine, which every Ukrainian will receive to pay for Ukrainian services and some Ukrainian goods.

The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to explain once again what the state’s goals are under this program.

“The first is to support Ukrainian families financially. We are giving them an additional resource that can be spent on paying for services, including utilities, and on some goods, including medicines. The second goal is to boost domestic demand for Ukrainian services. The third goal is to once again demonstrate the unity of Ukrainian society for resilience and victory. One of the options to spend the funds under the program is to donate them to the Ukrainian army,” noted Denys Shmyhal.

As for other components of the winter support program, Denys Shmyhal mentioned winter subsidies, which will be no less than last year’s, as well as the expanded Affordable Medicines program, which will include new recipients.

Internally displaced persons and other vulnerable groups can also expect help to prepare for the winter, but from philanthropists.

For example, in-kind assistance or financial support will be provided through local branches of Caritas in Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kramatorsk, Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Nadvirna, Drohobych, Kolomyia, Stryi and Sokal.
