According to law enforcement officials, the illegal gas stations operated in several settlements:

  • in the villages of Zatoka and Dobroslav
  • in the city of Vylkove
  • in Odessa — on Tsiolkovsky Street and near the “7 km” industrial market.

They used unauthorized fuel tanks, pumps, and other equipment for their operations.

What was seized during the searches

During the authorized searches, detectives seized:

  • almost 70 tons of fuel and lubricants
  • diesel fuel, gasoline, and liquefied gas
  • fuel dispensers and tanks
  • equipment and structures used for the operation of gas stations.

The total value of the seized property is estimated at approximately UAH 9.7 million.

What’s next

The Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine has reported that the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Law enforcement agencies are establishing:

  • all those involved in organizing the illegal business
  • fuel supply channels
  • the schemes for its sale.

Earlier, the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine reported on another case: in the Kyiv region, law enforcement officials announced their suspicion of five members of an organized group who set up an illegal oil depot and sold counterfeit fuel.
