Nestle recalls certain batches of baby food in Ukraine: list
6 January 15:55
Nestlé in Ukraine has announced a voluntary recall of certain imported batches of NAN and NESTOGEN infant formula. The reason was a potential risk associated with one of the ingredients. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the company’s press release.
What was the reason for the recall
Back in early December, Nestlé conducted a preventive recall of certain batches of infant formula in several European countries. The reason was a possible risk identified on one of the production lines. Importantly, these products were not supplied to Ukraine.
The company then carried out additional laboratory tests, fully traced the supply chain, and completed an internal investigation.
What exactly is the risk?
The tests revealed that the problem may be related to an ingredient from one of the suppliers that was used in the production of certain mixtures. It is the possible presence of cereulide, a toxin that can be produced by certain bacteria.
In this regard, Nestlé has decided to proactively withdraw the relevant batches from circulation and temporarily stop supplying them to the Ukrainian market.
The voluntary recall applies to the following batches of products:

What is known about product safety
The company emphasizes that as of today, there have been no confirmed cases of illness associated with these products. The recall is purely precautionary in nature.
Consumers who may have purchased these formulas are urged to contact the Nestlé Care Line or toll-free 0 800 500 950 for advice and further instructions.
