A night of explosions in Russia: strategic ports and a factory attacked (video)

On the night of March 26–27, explosions and fires broke out at strategic industrial facilities in Russia. The oil ports of Ust-Luga and Primorsk in the Leningrad Region, as well as the Apatit chemical plant in Cherepovets, Vologda Region, were targeted.

What happened at the oil ports

According to available information, the Leningrad region was under attack for the third night in a row. Explosions were heard in the areas of the Ust-Luga and Primorsk ports, which are key logistics hubs for the export of Russian petroleum products.

Eyewitnesses reported a

  • a series of explosions;
  • large-scale fires;
  • intense glow visible from dozens of kilometers away;
  • emergency services on the scene.

According to open sources, these ports play a key role in transporting Russian oil to international markets.

What is known about the attack on the chemical plant

In addition to the port infrastructure, the Apatit plant, part of the PhosAgro group, was targeted.

This company:

  • is one of the largest producers of phosphate fertilizers in Europe;
  • produces ammonia;
  • produces phosphoric and sulfuric acids;
  • supplies NPK fertilizers.

Georgy Filimonov, Governor of the Vologda Region, confirmed the drone attack and reported a fire on the company’s premises.

According to him, some of the drones were reportedly shot down, but there were also hits.

Eyewitnesses reported panic among the population and rescue workers at the scene.

Meanwhile, Russian authorities claim the situation is under control.
