Nighttime drone attack on Mykolaiv: fires, destruction and many casualties

On Thursday night, Mykolaiv was attacked by kamikaze drones. Nine high-rise buildings, dozens of garages and cars were damaged, and ten people were injured. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitaliy Kim, and the State Emergency Service.
According to the official, at about 02:45 on the night of April 10, “the enemy attacked the regional center with a Shahed 131/136 UAV.”
“Nine apartment buildings, three cars, 30 garages and an administrative building were damaged as a result of falling debris and the blast wave,” he said.
In addition, he added, fires broke out in an apartment and on the territory of a garage cooperative in Mykolaiv, which were promptly extinguished.
“As a result of the ‘Shahedna’ attack, 10 people were wounded. As of the morning, a 29-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man are in hospital in moderate condition, while the others were treated on an outpatient basis,” the official said.
The Emergency Service posted footage of the aftermath of the drone attack on Mykolaiv online.



The Service said that an apartment in the courtyard of a five-story building caught fire due to the fall of enemy UAV debris, and other apartments were also damaged.
“Rescuers evacuated a woman with limited mobility, and Red Cross volunteers helped her,” the emergency service said.
In other locations, the fire was extinguished in two cars and a garage, the SES added.









“In one of the private houses, a blast wave (trapped) a mother with three children – all were rescued. Ten people were injured. Three of them were hospitalized with injuries,” the emergency service said in a statement.
In total, 47 rescuers and 9 vehicles were involved in the relief efforts, the SES said.
