Russian night attack: Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, Znamianka under attack

On the night of September 3, Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukraine. Air raids were sounded in almost all regions of the country. The missiles flew from south to west, then changed course to the Kyiv region, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Russians attacked a number of cities in western Ukraine with drones. In particular, explosions were heard in Vyshhorod, Lutsk, Rivne, Lviv and Khmelnytsky.
The drone attack began around 2:00 am. Znamianska community in Kirovohrad region, including the facilities of Ukrzaliznytsia, was hit. Five people were injured in the attack, 17 residential buildings were damaged, and one of them was destroyed. Rescue workers, police, psychologists and doctors are working at the scene.
Power engineers are restoring electricity supply, said Andriy Raykovych, head of Kirovohrad Regional State Administration.

Explosions were heard around 4:00 in Khmelnytsky. Mayor Oleksandr Symchyshyn reported damage and fire at the facilities, but there is no information on casualties.

As a result of the night attack, public transportation in Khmelnytsky was hampered, the Khmelnytsky City Council reported.
It is noted that today public transport will carry out passenger transportation with significant deviations in schedules and with fewer rolling stock.
According to the head of the Khmelnytsky regional state administration, Serhiy Tyurin, the region was attacked by missiles and drones twice today – at night and in the morning. Air defense forces were working. There are some downed aircraft, but there is also damage.
There was a fire in a garage complex, a trolleybus was damaged, windows in residential buildings were smashed, and non-residential premises were damaged.

Lutsk Mayor Ihor Polishchuk said that air defense is working in the city, and local media reported many arrivals in the city. In particular, garages and cars are on fire.
The head of the Lviv regional military administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, reported explosions in Lviv.
The Kyiv regional military administration reported a massive UAV attack on the Kyiv region.
“In Vyshhorod, as a result of an enemy attack, the wreckage of a downed target caught fire between residential apartment buildings. A car and the windows of the buildings were damaged. The fire has been extinguished,” the statement said.
According to preliminary data, there were no casualties. More detailed information was promised to be provided later.
After 4:00, the Ukrainian Air Force spotted missiles moving in the direction of Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. Later, they were spotted over Snihurivka, Bashtanka, and Nova Odesa, after which some of the missiles changed course to Odesa and Vinnytsia regions.
Around 5:00, the missiles flew over the Zhmerynka district in the direction of Khmelnytskyi and then to Zhytomyr region. After turning around, part of the group continued to Kyiv region, while the other part went through Ternopil region to Ivano-Frankivsk. The head of the Kyiv city traffic police, Tymur Tkachenko, reported that air defense was operating in the capital, but did not disclose any details.
Monitoring channels recorded the launch of new missiles from Sumy region in the direction of Poltava region. Around 6:00, missiles were spotted in the areas of Starokonstantinov and Khmelnytsky, and then in Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
As of 06:26, the Air Force reported that Ukraine’s airspace was clear of enemy missiles. However, in Chernihiv region, Russian UAVs were spotted moving through Nizhyn, Mena and Kulykivka.
