24 January 09:40
On the night of Saturday, January 24, Russian troops once again launched a massive attack on Ukraine with missiles and drones. The main target of the attack was Kyiv, where Russia again struck critical infrastructure, according to reports from Ukrainian authorities and emergency services, Komersant reports.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported interruptions in heat and water supply on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Ukrainian capital. In addition, according to preliminary data, incidents caused by falling drone debris occurred in at least five districts of the city: Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Darnytskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Solomianskyi. In some cases, fires broke out, but no significant damage was reported.
At least one person was reported dead and four injured.
Kharkiv was under attack by UAVs for almost two and a half hours
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, in turn, reported that the city was under attack by UAVs for almost two and a half hours. At least 25 drones were launched at Kharkiv, but Terekhov did not specify whether all of them were shot down.
Among the targets that were hit, he named high-rise buildings in several areas of the city, buildings in the private sector, a local hospital, and a maternity hospital. The mayor separately noted that a UAV hit a dormitory where internally displaced persons live. “There are wounded. There are those who lost their homes tonight,” Terekhov said.
According to the latest data, 14 people were injured as a result of Russian strikes in Kharkiv, including a pregnant woman and a child.
“This was a deliberate strike on a peaceful city — on people who simply live, work, and raise children,” Ihor Terekhov wrote later.
