Germany to hand over Patriot, IRIS-T and Gepard to Ukraine – Scholz

In the coming weeks and months, Ukraine will receive additional air defence systems and other weapons from Germany. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during a conference on Ukraine’s recovery in Berlin, reports [Kommersant]
“The biggest need of the Ukrainian army now is ammunition, weapons, especially air defence systems. Therefore, in the coming weeks and months, we will supply Ukraine with the third Patriot air defence system, IRIS-T and Gepard systems, missiles and ammunition,” Scholz said,

He called on partners to follow Germany’s example and provide Ukraine with air defence equipment.
The German Chancellor is confident that Ukraine will defeat “Russian imperialism”.
Earlier, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said at the conference that Italy had planned an aid package for Ukraine worth €140 million.
The conference in Berlin is the third conference on rebuilding Ukraine after the full-scale Russian invasion. The current event focuses on engaging the private sector in recovery, social recovery, support for local authorities, and reforms for EU accession.
