Norway has allocated a new aid package for Ukraine worth 500 million euros, part of which will be used for military support. This was stated by Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre during a press conference with participants of the fourth Ukraine-Northern Europe summit, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Støre said that during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the leaders of the Nordic countries got acquainted with a clear assessment of what is happening on the frontlines.
He noted that his country knows “how many women and children have been and are being killed by Russian shells and missiles in absolute disregard for international law.”
“That is why we want to announce a new aid package of 500 million euros, like Norway. This aid will include a military package worth 350 million euros,” the head of the Norwegian government said.
The prime minister did not specify what the support would include, but noted that Norway would “work with our Danish colleagues to implement the initiative.”
“We want to make sure that this does not lead to difficulties for you in receiving this assistance. That is why my colleagues and I will do everything to make it easier,” he added.
According to the head of the Norwegian government, Norway wants to continue to provide assistance to Ukraine in accordance with Kyiv’s needs.
“We want to give you the support you need, including air defense, energy, and sea freight. It’s not just about Ukraine, but also about the future geopolitical stability of Europe,” Støre said.
