Nova Poshta has taken the initiative from Smiliansky because Ukrposhta is not responding to business requests, says CEO of Ridni. Medtekhnika.
11 March 08:50
Ukrainian entrepreneur Oleksiy Davydenko, co-owner of the Ridni. Medtekhnika chain, said that Ukrposhta did not respond to his partnership request, while Nova Poshta held a meeting within a few days and agreed to open dozens of branches.
The businessman wrote about this on Facebook, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
What happened
According to Davydenko, five days ago, Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smelyansky published a post proposing that entrepreneurs open Ukrposhta parcel delivery points in stores or cafes.
The entrepreneur was interested in this proposal, as it could mean an additional flow of visitors for his chain of stores. He left a comment under Smelyansky’s post and immediately filled out the potential partner form.
In his application, Davydenko noted that the Ridni. Medtekhnika chain operates in all regional centers of Ukraine.
Parallel request to Nova Poshta
On the same day, the entrepreneur decided to send a similar request to Nova Poshta to compare the terms of cooperation.
According to him, half an hour after the request, representatives of the company called him, clarified the details, and offered a meeting.
The meeting took place on Tuesday and lasted about an hour. As a result, the parties reached a preliminary agreement to open 46 Nova Poshta mini-branches in the chain’s stores.
There was no response from Ukrposhta
At the same time, according to Davydenko, five days after submitting the application, Ukrposhta did not send an email or make a phone call.
“The CEO of Ukrposhta invited us to partner with them. The CEO of Ridni Medtekhnika submitted an application. While Ukrposhta employees remain silent, Nova Poshta employees have already held a meeting and begun preparing to open branches,” the entrepreneur wrote.
He also noted that the process at Nova Poshta took place without the involvement of the company’s management, but at the working team level.
Partner branches are a common model in logistics, where parcel delivery points are opened in stores or other businesses, allowing companies to expand their network faster and partners to get an extra flow of customers.
At the time of publication, Ukrposhta had not publicly commented on the situation.
