President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgio Meloni. The main topic of discussion was further diplomatic efforts aimed at establishing a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Presidential Office.

The President and the Prime Minister exchanged details of their recent contacts with other leaders. The Head of State noted that it is important for Ukraine that all partners are fully informed about the situation.

Zelenskyy noted that their conversation had been constructive, and the peoples of the two countries shared a common vision of how to achieve true and sustainable peace. The parties also agreed on further contacts and coordination of actions.

“George clearly supports the position that European leaders must be engaged in diplomatic work with the United States to bring about peace. This war is ongoing on the European continent, Ukraine is moving towards EU membership, and the EU will participate in the restoration of our country after the war. Therefore, the voice of Europe must be taken into account,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.

The parties also coordinated further joint steps, including contacts with U.S. President Donald Trump, and agreed to keep in touch.

Zelenskyy thanked George Maloney for his principled position and continued support for Ukraine.
