Artur Dobroserdov is the new Ombudsman for Missing Persons: what is known

The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Artur Dobroserdov to the post of Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances. This was announced by the government’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports.

“The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has appointed Artur Dobroserdov to the position of Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances,”

he wrote.

Artur Dobroserdov took over from Oleh Kotenko, who resigned in September 2023 due to restrictions on his powers by the Cabinet of Ministers.

Prior to this appointment, Artur Dobroserdov was the head of the Department for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

What is known about Artur Dobroserdov

Dobroserdov was born in Vinnytsia region and graduated from the Odesa National Law Academy, Vinnytsia.info reports.

From 2010 to 2013, Dobroserdov worked as a deputy prosecutor in Vinnytsia, and in 2013-2014 he was the head of the department for supervision over the observance of laws by the SBU, the State Customs Service and the State Tax Service in Vinnytsia region.

Until 2015, he held the position of Head of the Department for Supervision over Compliance with Laws in the Field of Combating Corruption in Vinnytsia Region, and also Head of the Department for Supervision over Compliance with Laws by Bodies Fighting Corruption Offences at the Vinnytsia Region Prosecutor’s Office.

In 2016, Dobrocerdov was appointed Deputy Prosecutor of Odesa Region, and in 2021 he became the Head of the Southern Interregional Territorial Department of the ARMA. In the same year, Artur Dobroserdov was the acting deputy head of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police.
