A new leader of the energy front: “Chief Dispatcher of Ukrenergo Vitalii Zaichenko takes over as CEO

The Supervisory Board of NPC Ukrenergo has elected a new head of the company – Vitaliy Zaichenko, who previously held the position of chief dispatcher of the company. This was reported by sources of Ekonomichna Pravda in the government, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
Zaichenko won the final stage of the competition, which also considered the candidacies of Oleksiy Brekht (acting chairman of the board after Volodymyr Kudrytsky’s dismissal in September 2024) and Ivan Yurik.
Earlier, Vitaliy Zaichenko has repeatedly commented publicly on the challenges faced by the Ukrainian energy system due to Russian shelling, including warnings of future attacks and the need to strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure.
The competition for the position of Ukrenergo’s CEO was announced in February 2025. Now Zaichenko will officially lead the company in one of the most difficult periods for Ukraine’s energy sector.
