A new world record: Musk’s fortune exceeds $700 billion

Famous entrepreneur Elon Musk has become the first person in the world to be worth more than $700 billion.

This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Reuters.

According to the Forbes Billionaires Index, on Friday evening, December 19, Musk’s fortune rose to $749 billion. This happened after the Delaware Supreme Court overturned a lower court decision that invalidated the businessman’s remuneration in Tesla stock options, which now stands at $139 billion.

Earlier, Musk’s remuneration for 2018 was estimated at $56 billion, but as mentioned above, this amount has increased over time. The Supreme Court stated that the 2024 decision that canceled the remuneration package was unlawful and unfair to the billionaire.

Earlier this week, Musk became the first person in history to exceed $600 billion. This happened after reports that his aerospace startup SpaceX is likely to go public.
