Shelling in Zhytomyr region: people are advised to stay at home and close windows due to air pollution

A critical infrastructure facility was damaged in the Zvyagel community of Zhytomyr region as a result of a Russian attack. Local residents have been warned of the threat of air pollution. This was reported by the Zvyagel City Council, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports.

Vitaliy Bunechko, the head of the Ukrainian Air Force, said that they had managed to shoot down some of the Shahed.

“Last night, during an air raid in Zhytomyr region, enemy kamikaze drones attacked a critical infrastructure facility. The regional air defence forces managed to shoot down some of the Shahedis. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties as a result of the enemy attack,”

– he wrote.

Zvyagel City Council noted that there is a direct threat of air pollution.

“There is currently a direct threat of air pollution, so it is recommended to stay indoors with the windows closed. In particular, the emergency preparedness and response committee decided to introduce distance learning in general secondary education institutions. As for preschool education institutions, there will be regular groups for parents who have no one to leave their children with,”

– the statement said.

It should be noted that on the night of 8 April, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with an X-59 guided missile from the airspace of the temporarily occupied part of Zaporizhzhia region and 24 Shahed attack drones from Cape Chauda.
