The date of the final of the National Selection for Eurovision 2026 has been announced

The final of the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Ukraine will take place on February 7. During the live broadcast, the organizers will hold a charity fundraiser for prosthetics for Ukrainian veterans. This was reported by Suspilne Kultura, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
A big TV concert and the main message
The final of the National Selection will be held in the format of a big TV concert. The key idea of the show will be the message “Be unique”, which will define the concept of the entire event.
According to the creative producer of the National Selection, German Nenov, this principle will be integrated into all components of the show – from the visual style and scenography to performances and jury selection.
“This is not just a slogan, but a principle. You always need individuality and your own voice to win at Eurovision,” emphasized Nenov.
Who is already in the final of the National Selection 2026
Earlier, the organizers announced the nine finalists of the national selection. The list includes:
- Jerry Heil
- Laud
- Leléka
- Molodi
- Monokate
- Mr. Vel
- The Elliens
- Valeriya Force
- “ShchukaRiba”
Voting for the tenth finalist
In January, the voting for the tenth finalist will take place. Ukrainians will be able to choose one of the following artists:
- Khayat
- Karyotype
- Mon Fia
- Anstay
- Marta Adamchuk
- Oks
The full list of the finalists of the National Selection 2026 will be announced by January 15. The winner will be traditionally determined by the jury and the audience.
Charity fundraiser for veterans
During the final show, Public Broadcasting in cooperation with Superhumans will hold a charity fundraiser for prosthetics for veterans. This is the first joint initiative of the broadcaster and Superhumans within the National Selection.
Head of the Ukrainian delegation to Eurovision Oksana Skybinska emphasized that the National Selection should fulfill not only a cultural but also a social mission.
“For two years in a row, Ukrainians have been raising funds for humanitarian demining during the National Selection. This year, we are focusing on prosthetics, as this problem is extremely acute now,” noted Skybinska.
When and where will Eurovision 2026 take place?
The 70th anniversary Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Vienna. The semi-finals are scheduled for May 12 and 14, and the grand final is on May 16. The venue will be the Wiener Stadthalle, Austria’s largest criterium arena.
Vienna will host the contest for the third time after JJ won with their song Wasted Love. Ukraine in 2025 was represented by Ziferblat with the song Bird of Pray, which took ninth place.
Why there was a scandal around the National Selection
This year’s National Selection was not without a loud public controversy. Singer Olya Polyakova, when she applied, said that the rules of the competition were “discriminatory”.
This refers to a clause that prohibits artists who visited Russia after 2014 from participating.
The national broadcaster explains that this is an important security and moral norm that has been in place for years, and they have no plans to revise it.
After Suspilne refused to change the regulations, Polyakova’s producer Mykhailo Yasynskyi threatened to take legal action.
So far, the broadcaster has not changed its position.
