Oleksandr Poklad is being considered for the head of the SBU – Bezuhla

A number of media outlets have reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to dismiss the head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk. According to MP Mariana Bezuhla, his deputy, Oleksandr Poklad, may become the new head of the SBU.
She wrote about this on her Facebook page.
“Oleksandr Poklad is being considered for the head of the SBU,” she wrote.

What is known about Oleksandr Poklad
Oleksandr Valentynovych Poklad is a Ukrainian military and statesman, Major General of the Security Service of Ukraine, lawyer, PhD in Law.
He graduated from the Yaroslav the Wise National Law University. He began his career in law enforcement in Poltava region. In 2006, he received his lawyer’s license, which was suspended in 2015.
Later, he served as the Head of the 5th Directorate of the SBU Counterintelligence Department, where he led high-profile special operations, including the detention of Major General Valerii Shaitanov, a suspect in cooperation with Russian special services.
on November 30, 2021, he was appointed Head of the SBU Counterintelligence Department by a decree of Volodymyr Zelenskyi. on April 17, 2022, he was promoted to the rank of brigadier general.
on August 23, 2023, he was appointed Deputy Head of the SSU. on January 6, 2024, he was promoted to the rank of Major General. In May 2025, Poklad became a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the negotiations with Russia in Istanbul.
It is also known that Poklad is responsible for key areas of the special service’s work in countering the aggression of the Russian Federation.
In addition to the title of Hero of Ukraine, Oleksandr Poklad also holds the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, III degree, and the Orders “For Courage”, III and II degrees.
