Olga Harlan loses to French athlete at the 2024 Olympics

Ukrainian Olga Harlan lost in the semi-finals of the 2024 Olympic Games in sabre fencing. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Suspilne.Sport.

The athlete lost to French fencer Sarah Balzer with a score of 7:15. Now Olga Harlan will fight for bronze. The match will start at 21:50 Kyiv time. The Ukrainian’s opponent will be determined later.

Earlier, Olga Harlan reached the semi-finals of the 2024 Olympic Games in sabre fencing. In the quarter-finals, the Ukrainian defeated Hungary’s Anna Marton with a score of 15:7.

Harlan, in turn, reached the quarterfinals by defeating her opponent from Azerbaijan, Anna Bashta, who had fenced under the Russian flag until 2019. The match ended with a score of 15:6 in favour of the Ukrainian athlete.

It should be noted that Olga Harlan is an Olympic champion in Beijing 2008 (team tournament), bronze medallist in London 2012 and Rio 2016 (individual competition). In addition, the Ukrainian has a silver medal in the team tournament in Rio 2016.
