Ukrainian rhythmic gymnast Taisiia Onofriichuk got off to a strong start in the new season of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup. At the Sofia stage, she won four gold medals and set a new personal record for the most gold medals won at a single World Cup stage. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.
The tournament in the Bulgarian capital was the first stage of the 2026 season.
First, the Ukrainian athlete won gold in the individual all-around based on her combined scores in the hoop, ball, clubs, and ribbon routines. For Onofrychuk, this was her second career gold in the all-around at the World Cup level.

In the apparatus finals, Taisiia added three more victories. In the ball routine, she scored 29.000 points, beating Bulgaria’s Stiliana Nikolova by 0.1 points and Italy’s Sofia Raffaelli by more than four-tenths of a point.
In the hoop final, the Ukrainian scored 30.400 points, and her difficulty score of 14.000 was the highest among all finalists.
Onofrychuk won another gold medal in the ribbon event with a score of 29.200 points, where she edged out her closest rival, Alina Garnashko, by 0.050 points.
The only final where the Ukrainian did not climb to the top step of the podium was the clubs event: there she took fifth place with a score of 28.700 points. The gold in this discipline was won by Bulgarian Eva Brezalieva, while the silver went to Sofia Rafaeli.
That is precisely why Sofia’s results look even more impressive for Onofrychuk: four gold medals in a single World Cup stage.
According to the NOC of Ukraine, Taisiya’s previous best result in a single World Cup stage was three gold medals, which she won in Sofia last season. Now the Ukrainian has surpassed her own achievement and set a new personal record.
Separately, on the final day of the tournament, the Ukrainian national team competed in the group exercises. The team finished sixth in the final with five balls, scoring 23.000 points. The Chinese national team won this discipline with a score of 27.250.
In a broader context, this result confirms Onofrychuk’s status as one of the leading stars of Ukrainian rhythmic gymnastics right now. The season opener in Sofia showed that Ukraine remains among the leaders in world rhythmic gymnastics, and Taisiia herself is entering the season in championship form.
