Orban urges EU to conclude security agreement with Russia

European leaders should go to Moscow and conclude a security agreement with Russia, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has said.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to him, the agreement implies that Ukraine will not be able to become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance or the European Union.

“But we can also include an agreement on strategic cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union, and I think Hungary could support it,” Orban said.

The Hungarian prime minister believes that Ukraine’s admission to the EU would imply the union’s entry into a conflict with Russia and would also destroy the union economically.

In August, Hungarian Deputy Foreign Minister Levente Magyar said that the Hungarian government could change its position on Ukraine’s membership in the EU, but Kyiv should take “real steps” to do so.
