In a conversation with the Hetek portal, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced Hungary’s proposal to the European Union and Russia to hold talks on the formation of a future European security system, emphasizing that Ukraine should not be the central topic of discussion, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“Hungary proposes that the European Union and Russia negotiate on the future security system of Europe. <…> We need to negotiate not about Ukraine: it is an important issue, but not the most important one,” the Hungarian prime minister explained.

Orban noted that the current situation, in which part of the Ukrainian territory is under the control of Russia, and the rest of Ukraine exists solely due to Western support, requires a diplomatic solution, as this situation cannot last indefinitely.

“The war must end not only with a ceasefire, but also with a general settlement that guarantees each side security in the long term,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
