Oschadbank reports cyberattack: when will equipment be back up and running?

9 March 14:31

The state-owned Oschadbank temporarily suspended its electronic services after security protocols were triggered due to a suspected cyberattack. The servers were temporarily shut down.

This was reported by the bank’s press service.

“Today, March 9, at around 10 a.m., Oschadbank’s security protocols were triggered due to a suspected DDoS attack. As a result, the bank’s servers were temporarily shut down,” the bank said in a statement.

It is noted that a technical check of all systems is currently underway.

It is reported that all electronic services should be fully restored within the next hour.

The financial institution apologized to customers for the inconvenience. Oschadbank insists that it is working for the sake of security.

Recall that on the night of February 16, A-Bank suffered a large-scale hacker attack, as a result of which money was illegally debited from the accounts of some customers.

The financial institution stated that the attack was repelled and all lost funds have been fully reimbursed.

The incident was one of the largest in the institution’s history and was associated with a new type of cyber threat that had not previously been recorded in the banking system.

The financial institution also reported that it is working to identify the individuals involved in the cyberattack.

Subsequently, monobank announced an unsuccessful cyberattack on the bank.
