Parubiy’s killer has not yet been identified – police

On Saturday afternoon, August 30, MP Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv. The criminal fired about 8 shots at him.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a briefing by the National Police.

“Today, at 11:37 a.m., the 102 line received a report that a shooting was taking place on Yefremova Street in Lviv. Immediately, police units arrived at the address and found that an unidentified person had fired about 8 shots from a firearm. At the moment, the person has not yet been identified,” said Oleksandr Shlyakhovsky, head of the Lviv regional police.

He confirmed that the deceased was a public and political figure, Andriy Parubiy. The man died on the spot from gunshot wounds.

“A special police operation was immediately launched to locate the criminal and prevent him from escaping from the National Police,” Shlyakhovsky added.

Law enforcement officers also said that to identify Parubiy’s killer, they have begun analyzing CCTV footage along the route of the criminal’s approach and departure.

In addition, they have begun to identify and interview witnesses and eyewitnesses. At present, the police clearly understand that the crime was very carefully planned.
