The restoration of the destroyed building of the American Flex factory continues in Transcarpathia. The company plans to return all specialists to their jobs and is simultaneously working on new projects and attracting investments.

This was announced by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Myroslav Biletsky, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

He said that he had spoken with Flex’s CEO Anna Dragun and CFO Taras Petryna.

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration noted that five months after the Russian missile attack, the company is not only rebuilding, but also continuing to operate and fulfill its obligations to customers and all employees, planning its work for the coming years.

“This is a unique and very important signal for the economy of the region and the entire state. After all, the American investor has not only not left the market, but continues to invest in the development of business in Ukraine,” Biletsky said.

According to him, some of the employees joined in the reconstruction of the premises.

“The company’s employees successfully implemented the Flex Group’s corporate response plan. This made it possible to preserve jobs and fulfill the terms of the contracts,” Biletsky emphasized.

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration emphasized that in 2025, the Flexstronics plant paid more than UAH 432 million in taxes and fees to budgets of various levels, including more than UAH 140 million to the local budget.

Missile strike on Flex

On the night of August 21, 2025, Russian troops launched a missile strike on the territory of the enterprise in Mukachevo, Zakarpattia. After the strike, the enterprise caught fire. As a result of the strike, the warehouse facilities were destroyed, and a fire broke out that could not be extinguished for several days.

Later, rescuers localized a large-scale fire covering an area of 7,000 square meters. Ninety-six rescuers and 20 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire. A fire train from Ukrzaliznytsia was also involved.

The enterprise specializes in the production of exclusively civilian consumer products, such as coffee makers. The plant was not involved in the production of military equipment or defense products.

The state budget will allocate 16 million hryvnias to restore the plant’s production capacity.

The plant employed about 2,600 specialists. American investments in the company amounted to about $24.5 million.
