Pope Francis bequeathed part of his money to Ukraine

In his will, Pope Francis, who died in April of this year, designated part of his money to be used to purchase ambulances for the frontline regions of Ukraine. According to Bild, this was reported on Spanish radio by nun Lucia Karam, who often communicated with the head of the Roman Catholic Church, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Since 2022, Karam has made many trips to Ukraine and has been involved in several humanitarian projects in our country.

According to her, Francis was aware of her assistance to Ukraine and promised to join this cause, but she did not expect that this issue would be included in his will.

The nun did not disclose the details of the late pontiff’s order regarding ambulances. The amount of money allocated for this was not mentioned in the will either.

According to his will, Francis’s papal car will be used to create a mobile medical office to treat children in the Gaza Strip.

Death of the Pope

The 266th Pope Francis died in the Vatican at the age of 88. According to the official conclusion, the death was caused by a stroke and irreversible cardiovascular collapse.

The pontiff is expected to be buried on April 26 outside the Vatican. In 15-20 days after the burial, the Conclave is to convene to elect a new head of the Catholic Church.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed sadness over the death of the head of the Catholic Church and wished him eternal memory. The Head of State recalled that the deceased prayed for peace in Ukraine and for Ukrainians. According to him, Francis’ life was dedicated to God, people and the Church, and he knew how to give hope, alleviate suffering through prayer and promote unity.
