Paralympic Games 2024: Komarov wins Ukraine’s first gold medal

Ukraine won its first gold medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games on 30 August. Ukrainian swimmer Oleksandr Komarov won the 100m freestyle final in the S5 class. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the National Paralympic Committee of Ukraine.

With his result, Komarov not only brought Ukraine a gold medal and won his second medal in Paris 2024 after a bronze in the 200-metre freestyle, but also set a Paralympic record.

Oleksandr clocked 1:07.77, setting a Paralympic record.

China’s Qinzhang Gao took second place and Cyril Pulver came third.
