27 June 2024 17:30
After the end of the war, Ukrainians will be able to return to Ukraine and receive financial assistance from the European Union. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
The decision was made today, 27 June, at a PACE meeting.
The essence of the proposal is that after the end of hostilities, Ukrainians returning home could receive financial assistance from European countries.
This provision has now been added to a large report being prepared by the PACE Migration Committee on Ukraine.
It is currently impossible to receive these funds, and the amount of payments is still unknown.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion on 24 February 2022, more than 5.9 million Ukrainian citizens have sought refuge in Europe, and more than 500,000 have left Europe. There are also about 5 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine.
