Pensions have been adjusted: who received an increase of up to 2,595 UAH and what will change starting April 1

Ukraine has completed its annual pension adjustment. According to preliminary data from the Pension Fund, the increase took effect on March 1, 2026, affecting 9.5 million people. The average additional payment after recalculation was 648.93 UAH, the minimum was 100 UAH, and the maximum was 2,595 UAH. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" citing the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
The indexation was carried out in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 236 of February 25, 2026. It applies to pensions granted on or before December 31, 2025. Following the March recalculation, the average pension in Ukraine stood at 7,137.26 UAH.
Who Received Pension Increases
Pensioners whose pensions were granted by the end of 2025 were subject to the indexation.
At the same time, the Pension Fund specifically notes: only the base pension amount was indexed, excluding allowances, supplements, and additional payments.

Why the amount of the increase varies
The amount of the supplement depends on the individual pension amount and the rules set forth in the government resolution. That is why some received the minimum of 100 UAH, while others received up to 2,595 UAH.
The Pension Fund emphasizes that the overall average increase was 648.93 UAH, but this is an average figure for the entire system.
What will change in April
A separate recalculation awaits working pensioners. The Pension Fund announced that starting April 1, 2026, their payments will be automatically recalculated if, after the initial pension award or a previous recalculation, they:
- have accumulated 24 months of insurance coverage as of March 1, 2026, or
- have accumulated less than 24 months of insurance coverage, but two years have passed since the pension was granted or the previous recalculation.
Do I need to contact the Pension Fund?
No, for working pensioners, the April recalculation should occur automatically.
The Pension Fund cites Part 4 of Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance” and Government Resolution No. 236 as the basis for this recalculation.
