Pentagon orders $3.5 billion worth of AMRAAM missiles – Ukraine is among the recipients

The U.S. Department of Defense has signed a contract with Raytheon Technologies Corporation for the production of AMRAAM medium-range air-to-air missiles worth a total of $3.5 billion. Some of these weapons will be transferred to Ukraine.
This is stated in the Pentagon’s press release, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The contract provides not only for the production of AMRAAM missiles, but also for telemetry systems, spare parts, repair kits, and technical support for production.
In addition to Ukraine, the list of recipient countries includes: Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The supply is being carried out under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.
The production will be carried out by Raytheon ‘s Tucson, Arizona, facility. All work is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of fiscal year 2031.
Context
Last year, the Pentagon already signed a contract with Raytheon worth more than $1.1 billion for the production of AMRAAMs, some of which were also to be supplied to Ukraine. AMRAAM missiles are compatible with NASAMS platforms used by Ukrainian air defense to shoot down Russian cruise missiles, UAVs, and aircraft.
