BES re-certification under threat due to lack of funding – Tsyvinsky

The re-certification of employees of the Bureau of Economic Security may be jeopardized due to insufficient budget. Oleksandr Tsyvynskyi, director of the Bureau of Economic Security, said this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to him, the annual budget of the BES was previously planned to be increased by UAH 500 million.

“This will allow us, at least within the current number of people, to ensure the initial development of the organization. This will allow us to recruit people and conduct re-certification. Another point: given the potential personnel changes, we will need to pay people the appropriate funds. We don’t have them. And because the budget is inadequate or insufficient, we may not be able to fulfill the requirements for re-certification. We need to understand that by the end of the year we need to pay salaries to existing employees, recruit new ones if necessary, and pay all the necessary benefits to those employees who leave. This is a very serious problem. I would not want us to let our international partners down,” the BES director emphasized.

Mr. Tsyvynskyi also described the current stage of the re-certification of BES employees.

According to him, the process of rebooting the BES has already begun – by collecting information from organizations that have to submit their candidates to the commissions.

In addition, the BES has already appointed a deputy responsible for digitalization and human capital development, who is also in charge of re-certification. At the same time, the BES is actively communicating with international partners about candidates for the commissions, as well as with potential members who will be appointed under the director’s quota.

“My position is that no decision will be formal. We will collect as much information as possible about each person and give the person the opportunity to answer any questions as much as possible,” emphasized Tsyvinsky.
