Ramstein summary: aid to Ukraine will reach record levels

At the 28th meeting in the Ramstein format, the partners announced record military aid to Ukraine. The countries announced new aid packages worth billions of dollars, with a focus on drones, air defense, artillery, and weapons production in Ukraine. This was announced by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“We have significant results – in 2025, security assistance will exceed the figures for all previous years of full-scale war,” Umerov said.

As a result of the meeting, the partners announced new aid packages and important support steps.

TheUK announced a record-breaking £350 million in drone aid, which will allow Ukraine to receive 100,000 drones in 2025. In total, in 2025, British military support will amount to 4.5 billion pounds, of which 247 million pounds will be used to train the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Germany has approved a new €5 billion military aid package. The Bundestag has already approved this decision. The package includes:

  • financing of long-range weapons to be produced in Ukraine
  • transfer of air defense systems, weapons and ammunition/

The Netherlands is providing an aid package worth 400 million euros. It includes an anti-mine ship, boats, and maritime drones.

Belgium has announced a long-term initiative:

  • eUR 1 billion in annual aid to Ukraine until 2029,
  • including the transfer of a mine countermeasures ship.

Norway allocates:

  • $700 million for drones, with a focus on supporting the Ukrainian defense industry,
  • 50 million to the NSATU Trust Fund.

Canada: $45 million for drones, electronic warfare equipment, IT solutions, and Coyote and Bison armored vehicles.

Sweden: 440 million euros for international programs to purchase artillery ammunition, drones and other weapons for Ukraine.

The Minister thanked all the countries that continue to support Ukraine. He also thanked Minister Gili and Minister Pistorius for organizing this meeting.

“Peace in Ukraine must be just, lasting and protected by international unity. Together we are working to achieve this,” he added.

As a reminder, today, June 4, the 28th meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense in the Ramstein format took place at NATO headquarters.

However, this time, for the first time, it was not the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hagel, who attended, but a representative of the Pentagon, Kingsley Wilson. According to him, Hagseth has a very busy schedule.
