In 2024, Ukrzaliznytsia returned passenger traffic to pre-war levels, and Ukrposhta introduced automatic parcel processing lines, which significantly accelerated delivery. These and other results of the year and immediate plans in key industries are reported by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The Ministry emphasizes that all the work of the accountable sectors is now focused on European integration standards.
Postal service
For Ukrposhta, a significant achievement in 2024 was the automation of processes: automatic parcel processing lines were introduced, which significantly speeds up delivery. The company also launched a next-day delivery service that covered 98% of Ukrainian cities and developed a new mobile application for more convenient use of services.

An automated international mail processing center was opened. Ukrposhta’s mail volumes remained consistently high, with more than 85 million pieces of written correspondence and 50 million parcels. This year, special attention was paid to preparing for the launch of a warehouse for the delivery of medicines as part of the “Affordable Medicines” program.
In 2025, the company plans to launch pilot projects to install modern post offices in Kyiv and Odesa, automate the sorting of all mail, and start testing electric bikes for couriers.
Railroad industry
Ukrzaliznytsia returned passenger traffic to pre-war levels, reaching 57.2 million passengers on long-distance and suburban routes. Evacuation flights played a significant role in helping more than 4 million people, including 1 million children, find a safe place.

There are currently 20 international routes, including through Chełm, Chop, and Rava-Ruska.
In terms of freight transportation, we reached 146.9 million tons, which is 22% more than in 2023.
As for the restoration and development of infrastructure: 339 km of tracks were reconstructed, 8 bridges were restored, and EUR 45 million was raised for the development of border railway infrastructure under the CEF program.

In 2025, the railroad plans to purchase new electric locomotives and diesel locomotives, buy 56 new passenger cars, and implement a project to reconstruct the European standard 1435 mm gauge track on the Chop-Uzhhorod section.
Maritime logistics
In 2024, Ukrainian ports handled 91.1 million tons of cargo, of which:
– 73.4 million tons were handled by the Ukrainian Corridor to/from the ports of Greater Odesa;
– 16.5 million tons by the Danube ports.

A step forward in the development of digital services was made: seafarers were able to remotely process documents through the Diia portal, which saved more than $600 thousand.
Road maintenance
Due to the efficient use of funds, 64.8 km of roads and 7,016 linear meters of bridges were repaired in 2024. We also completed the maintenance of 289 artificial structures.
A large-scale allocation of funding is planned for 2025: uAH 9.5 billion for road repairs and maintenance, of which UAH 3.3 billion will be allocated to the frontline areas.
