After night shelling, Slavutych is completely without electricity: how the city survives the attack
5 January 11:33The town of Slavutych remains without power after a nighttime Russian attack. Almost 8,500 families are without electricity. At the same time, critical and social infrastructure is operating thanks to backup power sources. The situation was reported by the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk on his Telegram channel, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
According to the head of the regional military administration, all critical infrastructure facilities have been switched to backup power. Heat and water supply have been preserved in the city, which helps to avoid a humanitarian crisis.
“Critical infrastructure facilities have been switched to backup power. People have heat and water. Social facilities have been switched to generators and batteries. Communication and the Internet are available,” emphasized Mykola Kalashnyk.
The points of invincibility are open
In Slavutych, we have opened the resilience centers, which are ready to receive residents in need of heat, gadget recharging or assistance. Public utilities, police and rescuers are working in an emergency mode.
The city authorities urge residents to use support points and follow the recommendations of security services.
Restoration of power supply
Power engineers are already working to eliminate the consequences of the attack. They promise to inform about the timeframe for full restoration of power supply after assessing the damage.
Residents are asked to use electricity sparingly after the power is restored and to follow official announcements.
Repeated blows to the region
This is not the first time Slavutych has been left without power due to Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure. Last night, the enemy attacked Kyiv region and Chernihiv region again.
There are casualties as a result of the attack. In Kyiv, a patient of a hospital in Obolon district was killed. Another victim is a resident of Fastiv district of Kyiv region. Information on the consequences of the attacks is being clarified.
