Following searches by the NABU: Ihor Polishchuk, chairman of the Lutsk City Council, has resigned

The Lutsk City Council has terminated the term of office of Mayor Ihor Polishchuk ahead of schedule. The decision was based on his personal statement of resignation.
The deputies adopted the corresponding decision on March 25 during the 90th session of the Lutsk City Council, reports "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to VSN.
According to the decision, the mayor’s term of office ends on March 25, 2026. Ihor Polishchuk was also removed from the executive committee of the 8th convocation of the Lutsk City Council.
The City Council’s Accounting and Reporting Department was instructed to perform the necessary calculations and pay monetary compensation for unused annual leave and days off in accordance with current legislation.
“This resignation is in no way connected to either NABU or the audit. I want to confirm once again that NABU did not seize my phone, and since the events took place, I have not had any contact.
As for other criminal proceedings initiated against me, I am not aware of them,” Ihor Polishchuk stated during his address to those present.
It should be noted that the news that Ihor Polishchuk had submitted his resignation as mayor of Lutsk became known on March 23. At that time, sources reported that this matter was to be considered at the next session of the city council.
Ihor Polishchuk has served as mayor of Lutsk since November 2020. Prior to that, he was secretary of the Lutsk City Council, an advisor to the mayor, and acting mayor.
Also, during the session, the Lutsk City Council re-elected its secretary; Kateryna Shklyoda became the new secretary. She will lead the city until the election of a new mayor of the regional center of Volyn.
