The National Guard of Ukraine has canceled a tender for the purchase of shock shields, which caused a sharp public outcry. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Telegram channel of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The formation refused to purchase shock shields as a means of public order protection.
The tender for the relevant purchase has been canceled.

What is known about the scandal
on June 6, a tender was announced on the Prozorro public procurement system website for the purchase of 5,000 shock shields worth UAH 30.7 million by the National Guard unit 2276 .
The customer is a military unit of the National Guard located in Sumy region and officially categorized as a “customer making purchases for defense needs.” However, “equipment for dispersal of demonstrators” is purchased “for defense needs” (code 35220000-2).

The information caused a public outcry on social media. People fear that the shields were intended to be purchased to disperse demonstrators during possible protests.
Situation at the frontline
It is worth noting that over the past week, the Russians have been actively advancing on the Sumy direction. According to DeepState, almost 200 square kilometers have already been occupied in the Sumy region.
