After a long pause and legal disputes: Gulliver shopping mall in Kyiv plans to open on February 1

One of the largest shopping and office centers in the capital, Gulliver, is set to resume operations on February 1, 2026. The complex has been closed since the end of October 2025 amid a corporate conflict and legal proceedings over ownership rights.

The planned opening was announced in a statement from the center’s administration to tenants and visitors, published on January 19, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

What is known about the opening

The announcement states that all necessary work is being completed in the retail and office complex to ensure the “full opening of the shopping center and business center.”

The administration confirmed that the resumption of work is scheduled for February 1, 2026, for the first time after a break of more than three months.

Why Gulliver was closed

The Gulliver shopping and entertainment center ceased operations on October 30, 2025. The official reason given at the time was a corporate conflict that effectively blocked the activities of one of the key commercial facilities in the center of Kyiv, located next to the Sports Palace.

The closure was the next stage in a protracted saga surrounding the ownership and management of the complex.

Court proceedings and the role of state banks

Earlier, a consortium of state-owned banks received permission to acquire control over the Gulliver shopping and office center, the second-tallest skyscraper in Ukraine. At the same time, Tri O LLC, which is linked to businessman Viktor Polischuk, is challenging the state registration of ownership of the complex by Oschadbank and Ukreximbank, as well as a number of decisions by state authorities and notaries.

In 2024, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv transferred the Gulliver property to the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA). The agency tried to find a manager for the complex, but these attempts were unsuccessful.

What the opening means for the city

Gulliver is one of Kyiv’s key shopping and business centers, home to hundreds of stores, offices, and service establishments. Its prolonged closure has affected both tenants and the urban infrastructure of the capital’s business center.
