Ukraine has signed a record-breaking gas purchase agreement totaling 500 million euros. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“Naftogaz and the EBRD have signed a record-breaking agreement for Ukraine – 500 million euros for gas purchases. This is the bank’s largest project in our country,” she wrote.

According to Svyrydenko, the most important thing is that for the first time such a loan is provided under the EU guarantee, without a state guarantee of Ukraine.

“This will allow Ukraine to better prepare for the heating season and provide Ukrainian homes with heat and light even in the most difficult days of winter,” the Prime Minister explained and expressed gratitude to the EBRD and the EU for their support.

Naftogaz said that it will buy gas on competitive terms from more than 30 pre-qualified suppliers on the basis of contracts concluded in accordance with the standards of the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET).

This organization brings together more than 120 European companies and aims to increase the transparency and efficiency of the European energy market, promote competition and ensure reliable energy supplies.
