More than UAH 3 billion of own investments, international sustainability certificates, programs for veterans and children, new jobs and a focus on environmental friendliness – Bukovel is turning into a real magnet for investors. Bohdan Krasavtsev, head of the Bukovel Sustainability Office, spoke about how the resort is shaping a new philosophy of sustainable development during the business discussion “Bukovel as an investment magnet: has the last train left the station?” organized by "Komersant Ukrainian".
Investment, security, accessibility
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Bukovel group of companies has already invested more than 3 billion hryvnias in the development of the resort.
The Mavka water park, the resort’s new all-season magnet, became the first implemented case of the Investnianya project with the state. It has created 130 jobs instead of the planned 50, and salaries (in particular, at the Water Park) are 24% higher than the regional average.
“According to our commitments under the Investnianya program, we had to create at least 50 jobs for Mavka Water Park. We actually created 130. The next criterion was that the salary should be 15% higher than the average in the region. We are 24% higher. This is also a project with social content: health improvement, wellness, slow tourism,” says Bohdan Krasavtsev
In addition to the rehabilitation program for the military, programs for veterans are supported. For the second year in a row, Bukovel has been the general partner of the national selection for the international competition – Strong Spirits Games among veterans, says Krasavtsev.
Every year, more than 3,500 children have a rest in the Artek Bukovel camp, and the resort itself remains one of the safest and most stable locations in Ukraine.

ESG and Green Key: 12 Bukovel hotels have received sustainability certificates
Bukovel relies on sustainable development and environmental friendliness – not just as a trend, but as part of its investment attractiveness strategy.
Tourists today choose reliability. In the European Union, many people look for whether a hotel has a sustainability certificate. We already have 12 hospitality facilities that have the Green Key certificate for energy management, energy efficiency, and for moving forward,” notes Krasavtsev.
“Hotels are installing solar panels, collecting rainwater, introducing energy management, and staff are being trained in waste sorting. A new program called “Bukovel sorts” has been launched, working in partnership with a company from Nadvirna that recycles plastic, glass, and paper.
Bukovel is gradually receiving international quality certificates. This year, Lake Molodist, a free recreation area, received a Blue Flag certificate confirming the purity of the water. And by 2027, we plan to receive the prestigious international Green Destinations certificate.
We are looking to the future. Bukovel is no longer just a brand, it is a philosophy of sustainability, ecology and responsibility. We are creating a space that works for everyone – both people and nature,” summarizes Bohdan Krasavtsev.
Thus, according to Krasavtsev, Bukovel is confidently forming a new model of tourism – socially responsible, environmentally friendly and investment-attractive.
Billions of hryvnias of investments, international certificates, programs for veterans and children, cultural and environmental initiatives – all this turns the Carpathian resort into a “point of strength” for the country.
Bukovel is becoming not just a resort, but a national example of sustainable development in action.
