The weather will change dramatically: snow and ice are forecast in Ukraine

Weather conditions in Ukraine are expected to deteriorate over the weekend, with forecasters predicting rain, wet snow, and lower temperatures. Fog, black ice, and strong winds are possible in a number of regions. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
The weather changes will begin on Saturday, and on Sunday, western and northern regions will see more winter-like weather with snow and frost.
Rain, wet snow, and fog on Saturday
According to weather forecasters, rain is expected in most regions of Ukraine on Saturday, with wet snow in some places. The exceptions will be the northern and northwestern regions, where precipitation will be less intense.
At the same time, fog is forecast for the northern, western, and central regions at night and in the morning, which may complicate the situation on the roads.
The air temperature will fluctuate:
- at night — from 2° below zero to 5° above zero;
- during the day — from 0° to 5° above zero;
- in Transcarpathia and the south — up to 9°C;
- in Crimea — up to 12°C.
On Sunday — snow and cold weather
On Sunday, weather conditions will deteriorate, especially in the western and northern regions, where snow and lower temperatures are expected.
In these areas, the air temperature will range from 0° to 5° below zero during the day.
The rest of Ukraine will see mostly rain, with temperatures ranging from
- at night — around 0°;
- during the day — from 1° to 8° above zero;
- in Crimea — up to 15°C.
Forecasters warn of strong winds and icy conditions
On February 15, according to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, most regions, except for the northern and western regions, may experience wind gusts of up to 15–20 m/s.
In addition, icy conditions will form in some places on the roads, creating additional danger for drivers and pedestrians.
What will the weather be like in Kyiv
Cloudy weather without significant precipitation is forecast for Kyiv and the Kyiv region on February 14. Fog is possible at night and in the morning, and there will be icy conditions on the roads in some places.
The air temperature will be:
- in the Kyiv region — at night from 3°C to 1°C below zero, during the day 0–5°C above zero;
- in Kyiv — 0–2°C at night, 2–4°C during the day.
Forecasters recommend that drivers be especially careful due to possible reduced visibility and slippery road surfaces.
