Police find second lioness who escaped from rehabilitation center in Khmelnytskyi

Police have found the second lioness who escaped from a rehabilitation center for wild animals in Khmelnytsky on Saturday.
This was reported on Facebook by the patrol police of the Khmelnytsky region, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
On Saturday, November 15, the police received a report of the escape of two lionesses from the enclosures of a local zoo. Other animals died as a result of the incident. The staff of the institution managed to return one of the lionesses to the enclosure, while the other ran out of the territory.
After receiving the information, patrol officers together with colleagues from other units immediately began searching the surrounding area. Soon, one of the crews found the lioness near the place of escape.
The patrol police noted that the animal was being returned to its place of detention.
Investigators have opened a pre-trial investigation into the incident under Part 1 of Article 299 (Cruelty to Animals) of the Criminal Code and are establishing all the circumstances.
The Khmelnytsky police clarified that the found lioness was put into a state of medication sleep and transported to a safe place.
