Not all National Police officers are subject to mobilisation reservations under the new rules. As Kommersant Ukrainskiy has learnt from its own sources in the National Police, only a part of the police officers liable for military service will be subject to the reservation.

According to the sources , the police sent out an internal message, which suggests that some units will receive reservations for 50% of the personnel subject to military service, and some will not receive them at all.

Thus, the NPU Human Resources Department is forming lists of employees to be reserved. Three queues of mobilisation lists will be formed:

stage 1 – Employees of special purpose units (PPOP, KORD, OSS Luty);
2) employees of units performing tasks in the combat zone;
stage 3 – other units of the National Police of Ukraine.

The personnel were informed that the third stage, which includes most NPU units, provides for the reservation of 50% of employees.

Article 25 of the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Certain Issues of Military Service, Mobilisation and Military Registration” provides for reservation for National Police officers, but does not specify its norms.

“The law clearly defines that a police officer serving in the National Police is reserved,”

claimed Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko a month ago.

Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 450 of 5 May 2023 stipulates that the number of employees of the National Police of Ukraine cannot exceed 141,330. According to Minister Klymenko, there are currently about 100,000 police officers: 75,000 men and 25,000 women.
