They’re out to get Trump. Iran is trying to eliminate the U.S. president, says Netanyahu

Iran has twice attempted to assassinate U.S. President Donald Trump. This was stated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with NewsMax, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

“They tried to kill President Trump twice. They are still trying to kill him. And most importantly, they chant ‘Death to America,'” Netanyahu said.

The politician noted that prior to the war with Israel and the U.S., which began on February 28, Iran was “the main troublemaker in the Middle East and the world”:

“It was the main sponsor of state terrorism on many continents, including the Western Hemisphere, notably, by the way, alongside Venezuela and others.”

The Israeli prime minister asserts that “thousands” of members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have been killed in the war, and that his country and the U.S. are close to destroying the arms industry, entire factories, and the nuclear program itself.

He also reiterated that the goal of the military operations is not regime change:

“I think this regime will collapse from within. But for now, we are simply weakening their military capabilities, their missile capabilities, their nuclear capabilities, and we are also weakening them from within,” Netanyahu said.

However, Netanyahu refused to specify a timeline for Israel achieving its military objectives. According to him, the war has “definitely passed the halfway point,” but he later clarified that he was referring to the number of missions, not the timeline.

He noted that over the past decades, the Iranians “have killed and wounded more American soldiers than any other force,” particularly in Afghanistan, where Americans were killed by improvised explosive devices and where embassies were bombed.
