Poland wants to see the secret annexes to Ukraine’s victory plan and will address this request to the Ukrainian side. This was stated by Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Wladyslaw Teofil Bartoszewski in an interview with RIA Novosti, according to
Zelenskyy previously said that the secret annexes to the victory plan were shown only to those countries that are currently helping Ukraine in the defence sector. As he explained, “if a country, even among our close partners, has nothing to strengthen us with, why give us an annex?”
Bartoszewski said he was surprised by Zelensky’s interpretation. He noted that Poland helped Ukraine in a special way at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
“We provided Ukraine with military assistance in the most important way, because when Germany was talking about sending them helmets, we sent them 320 tanks. So our contribution was obviously significant, especially in the beginning when it was most needed,” he said.
He stressed that Warsaw should have access to these files.
“Of course, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs will discuss this topic with the Ukrainian side, because we are in constant contact,” Bartoszewski concluded.
He also added that he sees no possibility of rebuilding Ukraine without Poland’s participation.
It should be noted that Ukraine’s victory plan contains five key points and three secret additions:
- Invitation to join NATO right away.
- Defence: increasing Ukraine’s own weapons production and increasing assistance from partners.
- A deterrence package on the territory of Ukraine to counter any threats from Russia.
- Economic pressure on Russia: limiting oil prices and exports.
- Using the experience of the Ukrainian military to ensure security in Europe.
Three more points remained secret.
Earlier, Zelenskyy said that the Victory Plan is designed to strengthen Ukraine, and one of its points includes Ukraine’s accession to NATO and future membership.
Earlier, Zelenskyy met with US President Joe Biden at the White House. He spoke about his presentation of a victory plan to Biden. The leaders coordinated their positions on the initiative, and now the next steps are being prepared for its implementation.
What the secret document actually contains and whether it will be presented to the aggressor country
The President’s Office noted that some of the positions in the victory plan are of a “sensitive nature” and therefore need to be kept secret.
