Former MP Andrii Antonyshchak dies

A member of the 8th Verkhovna Rada, Colonel of the National Guard of Ukraine, Andriy Antonyshchak, has died. This was announced by the co-chair of the European Solidarity parliamentary faction, Iryna Gerashchenko, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports

“We received the sad news in the morning. Our colleague, MP of the previous convocation, Andriy Antonyshchak, has died. Andriy was at war, he was wounded. But then he was lucky,”

– she said.

According to Gerashchenko, the war caught up with Antonyshchak in the rear, with his health compromised.

“We used to call each other from time to time, Andriy was very concerned about the situation at the front, we discussed the supply of units and humanitarian aid. In parliament, Andriy was a member of the People’s Front team, and we worked together in the coalition. We remember you, my friend… My sincere condolences to your family,”

– gerashchenko said.

Andriy Antonyshchak – biography

Andriy Antonyshchak was born on 23 June 1969 in Novyi Rozdil, Lviv region.

He began his career in 1991 at the Rozdil enterprise. He worked at: N. R. Trade LTD – Commercial Director; Vladoks Private Enterprise – Deputy Director; TV Galmyasokom Private Enterprise – Retail Director; private entrepreneur.

In 2006, he was elected to the Lviv City Council from the Ukrainian People’s Bloc of Kostenko and Ivy.

Coordinator of the 1st Operational Battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine.

He was a participant of Euromaidan and the ATO.

In 2014, he became a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the eighth convocation, elected from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc party (No. 39 on the electoral list). In the Parliament, he headed the Subcommittee on Legal Support of Customs Authorities of the Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy.
